After three rather horrible attempts, I finally made a decent buttonhole! I broke two needles on my machine in this attempt! I am so, so, so, so proud! I am 90% done with this bag!

¡¡My mom is giving me her sewing machine!!

I was going to ask Jon for one for Christmas, but then I remembered that my mom has one that she never uses, so I asked her if I could have it (with the knowledge that I am never to sell it, give it away, etc., of course). So she's sending it to me via my big sis, who's coming to visit this weekend. YAY! :D

I can't wait to make things!!

the activities of the easily distracted [19 Oct 2005|04:19pm]

[ mood | dorky ]

so i have quite a bit of music on my computer by a fella name of "Richard Cheese." For those of tyou who have not heard of this brillant performer he and his band "Lounge Against the Machine" do lounge act versions of pop songs. Some of which, I think, are legitmatlely better than the origanals. He's done The Cure, Radiohead, Distrubed, U2, The Killers, The Hives and a fuck-ton more.

at any rate i've been making a playlist of all the Richard Cheese I have and placint it after the original. here's what i still need (edited at 4:50pm 10/19/05):

Nookie/Break Stuff (Limp Bizkit), Closer (Nine Inch Nails), Only Happy When it Rains (Garbage), Suck My Kiss(Red Hot Chili Peppers), Hot For Teahcer (Van Halen), One is the Lonliest Number (Three Dog Night),

If you have any of these email me the file to: BoundlessRogue@gmail.com

(EDIT 6:30pm)
I'm down to two songs I need. Arden can provide me with Only Happy When it Rains by Garbage so all I really need is One is the Lonliest Number by Three Dogs Nights

This isn't awesome, but it would be awesome if you can help [18 Oct 2005|04:28pm]

On October 13th at around 9 P.M., Olamide Elizabeth Adeyooye (Oh-LAH-Mee-Day Ah-Day-YO-yay) went missing from her apartment on Market Street in Normal, Illinois (Illinois State University) She is nicknamed "Ola" or "Ollie."

She was last seen at Family Video around the same time, however, managed to reach her apartment and put one of the videos in. When her apartment was broken into on Saturday by her friends, we found her cell phone on her couch and her TV was on. Her car and keys and purse are missing, and her door was locked.

If you would like to see a picture of what she looks like, you can go to www.myspace.com/olamide1

This woman is incredibly important not only to me, but to her boyfriend Andy Wildrick and the rest of the indie band The Junior Varsity. We're all shocked and heartbroken by her disappearance and and imploring people all around the country to help us any way that they see fit.

She is 21 years old, 110 pounds, and about 5'3". She is of Nigerian descent and has shoulder length, natural black hair and dark eyes.

If you would like to read the whole account of the story, you can visit blog.myspace.com/petrey. I will be updating on a daily basis as SOON as new information becomes available to me. If you have any information regarding her disappearance, you can call Ashley Petrey at 630-674-7949 or the Normal, Illinois Police Department at 309-454-9535. If you have any ideas or suggestions on how to help us find our beloved Olamide, please contact me, Ashley Petrey, and I can send you a flyer or help you get started.

Please don't disregard this, this has shaken up a whole university, not to mention the entire town of Bloomington-Normal.

Help us get our Ollie Pollie home safely.

Also, if you could repost this like a chain letter and ask your friends to repost it for their friends and so on and so on, it would help a lot.

you just know this guy is a BAMF [14 Oct 2005|07:37pm]

Last night I was standing outside the Vaudeville Mews with Amanda and Angela. Ross's show had just finished and the sound guy screwed them over big time. Which really didn't help the fact they seemed a bit off anyway, being minus Kate (to whom Ross refers to as "Peanut" while on stage), whose vocals really help pull them together. We were simply discussing various things that college age people discuss. When down the steet I saw the coolest thing I have seen in ages.

A very scruffy, and creepy oldish man was walking down the street. He had long white hair, and a thin white beard. He has cowboy boots, jeans and a denum jacket. He had a cigarette in his mouth.. He had in his hands, resting on his shoulder, a sword ad on the end of the sword was a white cowboy hat.

"That's just awesome." I said. He stopped held the sword in booth hands in a presenting manner, but not before resting his hat on his head, and said "Like the sword, eh? I sell it to ya for $50." He slid it out ever so slightly.
"I don't have $50 to purchase a sword with..." I said.
"Ah well," he said. He tipped his hat. Slid the sword back into the scababrd and tapped it on his shoulder. Took the last drag on his cigarette and walked off as he flicked the butt into the gutter.

Eat at Olive Garden, Red Lobster or any other Darden owned establishment October 5th.
100% of the profits made that day go to hurricane relief.
Just something I found out at work today.

what? [23 Sep 2005|12:21pm]

[ mood | awesome ]

So I finally got off my butt and did laundry yesterday. Except I left one load in the dryer overnight. Not very thoughtful of me, I know. D:

I went down to retrieve my offending clothing this morning... And someone had folded it all for me. That is so unbelievably awesome, all I had to do was put it away!

I'm tickled pink.

* And the wheels.. go round.. [21 Sep 2005|11:00pm]

[ mood | accomplished ]

The wheels have begun moving on my first ever TRIP TO JAPAN!!
The best part is that I'm going with my bestestest friend.
I'm so happy and scared.
I hope everything goes according to plan.
I also hope we don't get stopped at customs for trying to bring EVERYTHING back with us!
(I was kidding about bringing everything back with us..
But now I'm afraid that I was also a little serious.)

we are go on lakeside... [12 Sep 2005|04:35pm]

I'm gonna make it to Lakeside after all. Des Moines to Flossmoor and Vice Versa is no problem...well not NO problem...but I know I can handle it since I've done it before. But Lakeside to Des Moines throws about another hour and a half onto my travel time. 3 hours if you consider round trip. that brigns me to a 13 hour round trip. Which is a bit much all on my lonesome. so i stuck out my thumb, so to speak and got a ride up, and got a ride back. which makes it that much better to me.

gas will still be a bit much but...

sometimes you just gotta' say "Damn the torpedos! Full speed ahead!"

the school news paper is having an auction to raise money for hurricane relief next week.
things to be auctioned off are CDs, DVDs, baked goods, people (as dates). So they needed volunteers to be sold off and I said I'd do it.

i have no money to give so, instead i'm selling myself for charity.

i'm glad i was able to find a way to help.
